Coming off a week that saw the Dexter boys’ lacrosse team clinch a share of its third straight SEC White title, the Dreadnaughts are heading into the post season on a roll after a pair of wins.
The Dreadnaughts clinched a share of the title when Tecumseh when the Indians lost to Pinckney last week. The Pirates can still clinch a share of the title with a win over Chelsea this week in a game that was postponed due to weather.
Dexter opened the week by clipping Brighton 12-11.
Marty Watson had a big night with four goals and an assist to lead the Dreadnaughts.
Benny Willard had two goals and two assists, while JT Bonilla had a goal and two assists. Nico Willard recorded two goals, while Brady Dresch, William Simpson, and Dawson Waddington had one goal each.
Jeremy Schroeder made 14 saves in net for Dexter.
The Dreads wrapped up the regular season with a 14-11 win over Bedford.
Waddington had a big night with four goals and two assists to led Dexter.
Benny Willard recorded three goals and an assist and Watson had the hat trick of three goals for the Dreads.
Bonilla and Simpson had a goal and two assists each and Nico Willard one goal for Dexter.
Schroeder made 10 saves in net for Dexter.
The Dreadnaughts improved to 13-3 overall on the season. They open regional play when they host Pinckney Thursday night at Al Ritt at 7:00 PM. The teams split their matches this season with Pinckney winning in double overtime two weeks ago.
