SHARON TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – JANUARY 21, 2025 AT 6:00 PM

The Sharon Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Article 5, Section 5.22 of the Zoning Ordinance of Sharon Township to include Class 3 Home Occupations, which primarily support the equipment and vehicle service needs of agricultural operations in Sharon Township, and secondarily the vehicle service and repair needs of township residents. The proposed amendments would allow motor vehicle and small engine service and repair operations as home occupations as special land uses on parcels zoned General Agriculture, a minimum of 10 acres, and with a primary access point to M-52.  The proposed regulation would limit the size, scope, environmental, and traffic impacts of Class 3 Home Occupations through stringent location, site, and development requirements. This hearing will also involve the review of operational guidelines that aim to mitigate adverse impacts on surrounding residential uses.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday January 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Sharon Township Hall, located at 18010 Pleasant Lake Road.  The amendments are available at Sharon Township Hall or at www.sharontownship.org.  Written comments may be sent to the Sharon Township Planning Commission Chair at 18010 Pleasant Lake Road, Manchester, MI 48158.
