GENERAL / PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

To the Qualified Electors of Stockbridge Township, Ingham County:



PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that an election will be held in Stockbridge Township on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

 To vote on the following:

 

 

POTTER PARK ZOO AND POTTER PARK MILLAGE RENEWAL QUESTION

For the sole purpose of renewing for the continued operation of the Potter Park Zoo and Potter Park, including funding for operations, maintenance, and improvements, shall the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in one (1) year upon all property within the County of Ingham, Michigan, be renewed at up to 0.41 mill, $0.41 per thousand dollars of state taxable valuation, for a period of five (5) years (2016-2020) inclusive? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise in the first calendar year of the levy an estimated $2,799,104 for operations, maintenance, and improvements for Potter Park Zoo and Potter Park.

Persons registering to vote in Stockbridge Township must possess the following qualifications on or before the day of the election: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) not less than 18 years of age; (3) a resident of the State of Michigan and Stockbridge Township for not less than 30 Days prior to the election (MCL 168.492). In addition, qualified electors must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.497).

Registrations will be received at Stockbridge Township Hall located at 125 S. Clinton St. Stockbridge, MI 49285 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am to 12 noon. Persons with special need as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the clerks office.
