NOTICE OF ADOPTION
Notice is hereby given that the Township Board for Sylvan Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan adopted Ordinance 24-004 at its regular meeting on August 13, 2024; that provides an amendment to Chapter 30 Zoning: Article I In General, Section 30-5 Definitions; Article III District Regulations, Division 1 Generally, Section 30-182 Application of regulations; and Article IX Supplemental Regulations, Section 30-792 Access to Public Street. A Summary of the amendments are below.
Chapter 30 Zoning;
Article I In General
Section 30-5
Adds wording to the definition of Lot Width
Amends the wording to the definitions of Front Side and Rear Yard
Article III District Regulations;
Division 1 Generally;
Section 30-182;
Item (b)(8) Measurements of Lot Widths-Amends the wording that describes how lot widths are measured.
Article IX Nonconformities;
Section 30-792 Access to public street
Item (a)(1)-Amended the regulation to allow new buildings and structures to be built on properties that are accessed by exclusive access driveway and shared private driveways.

The adopted amendment shall become effective 7 days after the notice is published, unless referendum procedures are initiated under MCL 125.3402 within seven (7) days after publication of this notice of adoption. If referendum procedures are initiated, the ordinance shall take effect in accordance with MCL 125.3402.
