MEETING SYNOPSIS – October 14, 2025 Board Regular Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.  Members present: Supervisor Nimke, Clerk Jackson, Treasurer Egeler, Trustee Koseck. Member absent: Trustee Schulze.  OHM engineer Jennifer Morris gave a presentation on the Sylvan Township Drinking Water Capacity Study; Cheslea Area Fire Authority (CAFA), Chief Rob Arbini gave a presentation and answered questions regarding the CAFA millage proposal for the November 4, 2025 election.  The Board to action to: approve the minutes for the September 9, 2025 Regular Board Meeting, September 25, 2025 Special Joint Board Meeting with Lima Township, and September 30, 2025 Special Board Meeting; discuss the Board’s response letter to the City of Chelsea about their Master Plan’s Extended Boundary Future Land Use map with the Township Zoning Administrator; approve a quote to upgrade the water plant backwash valve controls for $13,805 ; approve a quote  to upgrade the Panelview interface for $11,673; approve electrical services from IAI for $3571; approve tree and brush removal at the Water Treatment Plant for $6,000; approve $5200 for OHM contract services to support water operations until March 1, 2026; adopt Township Resolution 25-13 change in Water tap fees from $5000 to $7000 effective October 16, 2025 by roll call vote YES(4) NO(0) ABESNT (1); approve the budgeted transfer of $6500 within the Cemetery Funds; adopt Township Resolution 25-12 to create a Roads Advisory Committee by roll call vote YES(4) NO(0) ABSENT (1); approve $2380 for installation and service from IVS Phone Services with a $100 monthly contract; and approve the Bollinger snow removal contract through April 2026. Meeting adjourned at 10:06 p.m.

MEETING SYNOPSIS – October 17, 2025 Special Board Meeting

Meeting called to order at 9:30a.m.  Members present: Supervisor Nimke, Clerk Jackson, Treasurer Egeler, Trustee Koseck, Absent: Trustee Schulze. The Board to action to: approve the Board’s letter to the editor for the Chelsea Update in response to Koseck’s letter to the editor in the Chelsea Update on October 16, 2025; approve the Board’s letter to the editor for The Sun Times News in response to Koseck’s letter to the editor in the Chelsea Update on October 16, 2025. Meeting adjourned at 9:54 p.m.
