Be sure to mark your calendar for October 6, 2018 for the Taste of Chelsea event taking place at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall.  All benefits from this tasty event go to The St. Louis School, whose mission is to provide supportive residential, family living and learning environment the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

For a mere $45, they state, attendees will enjoy a culinary extravaganza showcasing Chelsea’s and greater Washtenaw County’s dining community.  In addition, there will be music and entertainment.



According to Joe Yekulis, Public Relations Director for St. Louis School, the following restaurants are participating in this year’s festivities: Artic Breakaway, Carmela Foods, Chelsea Bakery, Chelsea Big Boy, Chelsea Comfort Inn, Chelsea Milling Company, Clear Lake Grill, Cottage Inn Pizza, Culver’s – Scio Township, Fr. (Canon) William J. Turner, Indian Brook Trout Farm, Laura’s Catering, Los Tres Amigos, Mancino’s – Zeeb Rd., Smokehouse 52 BBQ, Stivers Thompson’s Pizza, Zingerman’s Creamery and Zou Zou’s Café.

In terms of sponsors, Joe says he is still working on contacting the many folks that helped last year.  They include:  Master Chef Sponsors (giving more than $500) included Chelsea Dermatology, Knights of Columbus St. Louis Guanella 3092, Lane Animal Hospital, Side Street Garage, and St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea.

As for $100 sponsors, last year’s participants were Ascent Audiology, Chelsea Chiopractic, Chelsea Chevrolet-Buick, Great Lakes Ace Hardware, Diane Howlin, M.D.,, Chelsea Medicine and Laser, Donna Hozencik, M.D. and Mark Quimet, In Chelsea Hair Design, Jets Pizza, Jeff Klink and Associates Realtors, Koch & White Heating and Cooling, Polly’s Country Market, Riemco Building Company, RuralReach.com, Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Tabbey, Hon. Judge Kirk W., and Washtenaw County.

Joe said, “Many of last year’s sponsors are sponsoring this year’s event as well. Still working on reaching out.”

Once again, music will be provided by the popular duo The Francesco & Dave Duo.

David Passalacqua & Francesco Cavallini perform Italian Folk Music for the crowd.

The event committee who put this all together includes Fr. Enzo Addari, SdC., Linda & Tom Dyer, Kelly Flatterty, Kathy Heywood, Linda Martell, Ginny & Shelley Wheaton and Joe & Deise Yekulis.
