Myron Bernhart, a hen pecked, meek man is a collector of rare books. His bossy, nagging wife, Marge, has decided to sell them against his wishes. Her cronies from the Civic Arts League assist her in getting the word out. Myron realizes he must do something to stop her, so he sets up the perfect murder. He prepares the “special tea” and waits for Marge to drink it. Chaos ensues, and the wrong person drinks the tea and dies. What follows are policemen, blackmailers, in-laws and cronies all wondering, how did she die?
The show is directed by Wendy Sielaff. Cast includes Jerry Doty as Myron Bernhart and Mary Rumman as his wife Marge; Ann Marie Mann, Patti Ringe, and Kelly Wade as JoBeth, Opaline and DeWitt of the women’s league. Kyle Newmeyer plays Marge’s brother Jack. Other cast members include Alyssa Dawson, Sara Honsowetz, Kevin Myers, Maddie Ringe, Anna Sellers, and Amelia Yunker.
It’s a fast-paced comedy-mystery where nothing seems to go right, even when you go by the book. Of course, that’s when the title of the book is Murder for Dummies. If you’re looking for a fun night out and a chance to laugh, this show is for you.
