Thomas A. Rickelmann

Chelsea, Michigan

At age 84 passed away on March 25, 2019. He was born March 30, 1934 in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Andrew and Bertha Rickelmann. 

June 20, 1953 he married Audrey Ann (Spetter) in Ann Arbor, and she survives. Also surviving are four children, Thomas (Deborah) Rickelmann of Clinton, Carol (Thomas) McDonnell of Dexter, Mark (Sandy) Rickelmann of Chelsea, and Joanne Tobias of Chelsea; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, three brothers, Richard (Barbara) Rickelmann of Milan, Norbert (Mary) Rickelmann of Pinckney, Edwin (Pat) Rickelmann of Manchester, and one sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Kramer of Ann Arbor. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers Elmer, Bernard, and James Rickelmann, and three sisters Delores Alvesteffer, Ruth Rickelmann, and Joan Monforton.

Tom graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1953. He worked as a plumber for the University of Michigan and was a member of UAW Local 190.  

Tom had lived in the Chelsea area for over forty years, where he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and former member of Inverness Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed sports, and in high school was All Conference and All State for football and basketball.  He also was an avid U of M and NASCAR fan.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, March 29, 2019 from St. Mary Catholic Church with V. Rev. William J. Canon Turner presiding. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family received friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
