The following message was sent out to Webster Township residents from the desk of township supervisor John Kingsley:

Sadly, the Webster Township Board of Trustees lost our friend and colleague Carol Whitney. Carol had served as our Treasurer for the past thirteen years. It is now the responsibility of the Board to appoint a Treasurer to serve the remainder of Carol’s term until the 2020 election. The Board is reaching out to all of our residents to let them know this opportunity exists.

The State requirements to be Treasurer are:

a citizen of the United States

a resident of the Township for thirty days

at least eighteen years old

a registered voter

Reality is a little different. We are nearing the end of the Summer Tax season which is one of the busier times of the year for the Treasurer. An accounting or banking background would be most helpful. The Treasurer has to be bondable and detail oriented. We, like most Townships in the State, use BS&A software for tax purposes; therefore, the Treasurer must be able to be trained and become knowledgeable on this software. As a member of the Township Board, the Treasurer assists in conducting the business of the Township that is in the long term best interest of the residents of our Township in addition to the specific duties of the Treasurer.

If you are interested, please send a letter of interest and resume’ to by September 10, 2019.
