At age 88, passed away on January 15, 2018.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth (Speicher) and a sister, Beverly Firestone.

He was born on November 11, 1929 in Lapaz, IN.

After graduating high school, Weldon worked for Studebaker in South Bend, IN. He proudly served in Europe for the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Once back home, he obtained an Aeronautical Engineering degree from Tri State University. His career included jobs at McDonnel Douglas Aircraft and Chrysler Aerospace , where he was involved with the launch of the Saturn rockets at Cape Canaveral, FL. He then transferred into the automobile division and eventually retired from the Chrysler Corporation Proving Grounds in Chelsea, MI.

He and Ruth then settled in Hastings for the next 20 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Rebecca ( Mike) Seaben , David Harbaugh,; sisters, Shirley (Harry) Johnson and Betty Mae Harbaugh.

Weldon was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge and The Methodist Church., a lifelong car enthusiast and had a special fondness for dogs.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed helping others.

Weldon most recently resided at Sentinel Pointe Retirement Community where he enjoyed friendships that enriched his life.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at a later date.
