Whitetail Farm, a home and lifestyle store in Dexter, is opening a second spot in town for a design studio/workroom and showroom.
A sign recently popped up on a window at the revamped building at 8080 Grand Street.
The retail part of Whitetail Farm, located at 3238 Broad Street in downtown, opened in November 2017 and has always aimed to offer a variety of stylish accessories for home and lifestyle with a goal to be a tried-and-true resource, “for you and your home.”
Whitetail Farm owner Mary Baude said they expect to stay at their Broad Street store, so with the new, additional space at Grand Street there will be a different use. It will be dedicated to a design studio/workroom and showroom. They are aiming to have the new space ready in March.
“We will not offer retail hours-appointment only at this point,” Baude said of the second location. “However, we plan to have events there as part of an extension of our Whitetail Farm business.
She said they “want to be able to show our customers and clients, products and services that we offer at Whitetail Farm.”
“We love being in Dexter and seeing how the town is growing, which is wonderful for all of the Dexter businesses,” Baude said. “It’s been fun to see what the customers want and to authentically grow our customer / client base through social media and other marketing means.”
Whitetail Farm has always offered interior design services along with its home and lifestyle products to purchase in the retail space, Baude said, but they’ve, “been unable to showcase too much of the furniture and home accessories due to our restricted shop size.”
She said they decided to lease an additional space to help with that “showroom” endeavor and being able to “show clients the kind of furniture we offer, along with additional home accessories i.e. pillows, throws, rugs.”
“We will use the new space for design meetings, client appointments and events,” she said.
