Fall Family Fun Fest Hosted by Mallie, Piatt, Golding & Greenstein is a Spooktacular Success!
This past Saturday Palmer Commons was transformed in to the first ever Fall Family Fun Fest courtesy of 4 school board candidates—Juli Mallie, John Piatt, Tom Golding & Ross Greenstein. Families were invited out to have some fall fun and meet the candidates.
Over a hundred kids came out to trunk or treat, have a fall photo op, paint pumpkins, do some “spooktacular” dancing, and much more! It was great to see all the costumes, smiles, and to hear the laughter! Many parents and community members enjoyed the event so much they asked if it would return next year.
While this was the first event of this kind, this is not the first time these candidates and parents self-initiated an event focused on Chelsea’s kids.
In March, after the spring formal was cancelled by the district, parents came together and hosted a free Spring Formal. Robin Hills Farm was transformed in to a magical venue that was catered with a DJ and photographer. Dozens of Chelsea high school students filled the farm with smiles and laughter and danced the night away! Ironically, the Chelsea School District pivoted and reinstated the spring formal. So, thanks to parents and the district, Chelsea students had the opportunity to attend TWO spring formals after many plans being cancelled to COVID.
The last two years have been extremely difficult due to Covid. But parents saw a need and met it. That’s one thing I love about our community. And our kids will be better for it.
