SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
SYNOPSIS DECEMBER 13, 2022
Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Hathaway.
Present: Hathaway, Flintoft, Knol, Kerry, Brazeau, Reiser, Palmer
Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.
Approved minutes of regular meeting of November 15, 2022, with corrections.
Approved minutes of special meeting of December 3, 2022, with corrections.
Approved cost of living allowance increase of 7.9% in wages only effective April 1, 2023.
Adopted the Resolution allowing the Twp Clerk complete access to all eight BS&A financial modules.
Appointed Ryan Yaple to serve on the DDA Board of Directors to a four-year term commencing January 1, 2023.
Approved Michael Vestergaard’s application for enrollment in the Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program.
Authorized the Supervisor/Clerk to retain Mark Thompson, of Management Advisory Group, LLC, to serve as the Interim Township Administrator at a rate not to exceed $110/hour.
Authorized one year renewal of Scio Township’s membership in Southeast Michigan Council of Governments in the amount of $2,434.
Approved Site Plan #22006 Sam Hill Restaurant, existing restaurant with new outdoor seating.
Adopted the Resolution extending the service contract with the Washtenaw County Office of the Sheriff.
Accepted the 11/29/22 proposal from OHM for Zeeb Road Pathway Phase V preliminary engineering and authorized the expenditure of $191,000 from MEDC Enhancement Grant funds.
Referred the issue of resorting authority of Twp Clerk to perform financing reckoning and reporting to a committee of Trustees Brazeau, Reiser and Knol with assistance of Marc Thompson.
Adopted the Resolution authorizing an application for a Spark Grant for the Scio West Pathway.
Approved a consolidation of the Parks Advisory Board and the Transportation Alternative Planning Committee to form a new Parks, Preserves and Pathways Committee.
Enacted an amended ordinance to create the Parks, Preserves and Pathways Committee and adopted new committee charge.
Approved the appointments of Roy Townsend, Chris Cheng, Rita Clinthorne, Heather Berkovitz, Patrick McLaughlin and Steve Kern to the Parks, Preserves and Pathways Committee.
Approved the appropriation of $14,000 in General Fund balance and authorize payment to Plante Moran for FYE22 Township audit.
Appointed Jeannine LaPrad to a three-year term on the LPC and Trustee Reiser to a one-year term on the LPC.
