Patricia Mae Carlson, Whitmore Lake, Michigan
Her Legacy...Patricia Mae Carlson, age 85, passed away April 19, 2023. She was born on December 13, 1937, in Southfield, Michigan to George Fischer and Catherine (Fetterly) Fischer. Pat married her loving husband, Allen Carlson, on June 16, 1974, in Milford, Michigan. Pat will be remembered for her deep love for people, especially helping them, as was embodied in her long-time career in nursing. She later went on to teach nursing at Madonna University, which she also loved. Pat enjoyed being in nature, and spent much time gardening. Her other hobbies included antique collecting, and she had a special interest in collecting glass from the Depression era. Pat was an active member of the Lions Club International, and was a Civil Rights activist. Most of all, Pat loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Her Family… Pat will be missed by her husband Allen; her children, Shannon Lafferty-Deraad (Scott Deraad), Terry (Robyn) Carlson, Sandy (Bill) Bowan; sister, Dee Barr; grandchildren, Chelsea (Aidan Heed), Robert, Austin, Scott, Ben, and Chris. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Cory Carlson, and her brother, Jim Fischer.
Her Farewell… Pat’s family and friends will gather Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel in Hamburg, Michigan.
