SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS MAY 23, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm by Supr. Hathaway at 827 N. Zeeb Road.

Present: Hathaway, Reiser, Knol, Kerry, Palmer, Brazeau, Flintoft

Approved minutes of regular meeting of May 9, 2023, with corrections.

Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.

Waived any potential conflict for Hooper Hathaway with conditions.

Approved Conditional Use Permit #23005, 7511 Jackson Road to allow interior, climate-controlled self-storage facility based on the recommendation of the Planning Commission.

Authorized expenditure of $25,000 to install vehicle exhaust removal system in the Fire Department storage building.

Called for a special meeting of the Board of Trustees on June 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. for the purpose of discussing Scio Township Clerk v Scio Township Board
currently pending in the Michigan Court of Appeals.

Adopted Resolution calling for June 13th Public Hearing to confirm that the Clerk shall make clerical corrections to the May 9, 2023, Resolution calling for a public hearing on Fire SAD.

Approved OA #22006/FSP #23011, Encore at Heritage Woods Village Final PUD Site Plan based on the Planning Commission recommendation of approval including any conditions listed by the Planning Commission.

Authorized the ground lease-to-purchase agreement with the condition that Urban Crossroads, LLC pay a lump sum of $18,000 prior to signing the agreement and that the results of the on-site air quality testing be provided to Scio Township.

Reaffirmed that Township Attorney Fink and Office Coordinator Kristy Aiken are the staff to the Compensation Commission and request that the Compensation Commission return four separate determinations of compensation one for each positions of Clerk, Supervisor, Treasurer and Trustees.
