If you missed the policy committee meeting yesterday, you can watch it here (https://www.facebook.com/barbara.read.dexterschools/videos/148185178535…) at your convenience.
The two main topics covered were the new Title IX guidelines and a resolution giving the superintendent extended "emergency powers" for the remainder of the 2021 school year. The policy changes will come for a first reading and discussion first, while the resolution will be voted on directly at the next meeting. The committee also talked about social media, restorative justice, disciplinary hearings, and privacy, among other topics.
Hopefully, the board will begin streaming the smaller committee meetings alongside its regular board meetings by January when my term comes to an end; but I don't mind publishing them in the meantime. I know it's important. It appears that for now the committee meetings are only available in-person or to watch later by private streaming.
