The Chelsea Education Foundation raised more than $20,000 during its Art Party: Bid, Create & Dance fundraiser held at Revel Run.
According to the organization, the total exceeded the event’s original fundraising goal. The fundraiser included a silent auction, interactive art activities, dinner, drinks and dancing.
Funds raised will support creative programming and teacher grants in the Chelsea School District. The foundation said the money will help purchase pottery wheels and professional cameras for Chelsea High School students and support classroom resources and teacher-led initiatives.
Retired Beach Middle School art teacher Kim Eder said local artists and businesses contributed artwork, gift cards and other items for the silent auction and helped sponsor the event.
The Chelsea Education Foundation is marking its 35th year and said it plans to continue expanding community engagement and long-term funding efforts, including growth of its endowment.
Sponsors included John and Donna Daniels, Diane Kielszewski of Edward Jones, SBK Orthodontics, Roberts Paint and Body, Eder & Diver Insurance Agency, Rankin Audiology & Hearing, Revel Run and JDW & Associates.
The foundation also thanked attendees, volunteers, donors and artists who participated in the event.
