AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE 2026-01

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2023 CITY OF DEXTER ZONING ORDINANCE BY INCORPORATING AMENDMENTS TO ARTICLE II DEFINITIONS, SECTION 2.02 DEFINITIONS; ARTICLE III, GENERAL PROVISIONS, SECTION 3.04, TEMPORARY STRUCTURES AND USES, SUB-SECTION A, GENERAL REQUIREMENTS; ARTICLE X, USE BASED DISTRICT, SECTION 10.07 PF PUBLIC FACILITIES DISTRICT, SUB-SECTION D, SUPPLEMENTAL DISTRICT STANDARDS; ARTICLE XXI, SITE PLAN REVIEW, SECTION 21.03 ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW, SUB-SECTION B, PROJECT TO BE REVIEWED ADMINISTRATIVELY.

Notice is hereby given that the Dexter City Council adopted the following Zoning Ordinance Amendment at a Regular Meeting on the 12th, day of January, 2026, which was called to order by Mayor Keough at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.

PRESENT: Semifero, Schlaff, Aldag, Popov, Keough

ABSENT: Hubbard, Tell

The City of Dexter City Council hereby ordains:

SECTION 1: The City of Dexter 2023 Zoning Ordinance is amended by REVISION of Article II Definitions, Article IV Nonconformity, Article V Access, Parking, Loading and Sidewalks, Article III General Provisions, Section 3.04 Temporary Structures and Uses, Sub-section A, General Requirements; Article X Use Based District, Section 10.07 PF Public Facilities District; and Article XXI, Site Plan Review, Section 21.08 Administrative Review, Sub-section B, Projects to be Review Administratively. The full text has been omitted from this notice due to its length, but it is available for review at the City Offices 3515 Broad St, Dexter, MI 48130 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on business days and on the City’s website at www.dextermi.gov.

SECTION 2: INCONSISTENCIES REPEALED. Any and all other ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY. Should any section, clause or paragraph of this Ordinance be declared by court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same will not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or part hereof other than the part declared to be invalid.

SECTION 4: SAVING CLAUSE. That nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Ordinance.

SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. The provisions of this amendment are hereby ordered to take effect seven (7) days following its publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, in accordance with PA 110 of 2006, the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, as amended.
