The Dexter Community Schools (DCS) Board of Education approved a bid package with a list of contractors and companies who will work on the renovation of Wylie Elementary School. This project is part of the 2025 Bond Plan that will see a variety of improvements, additions and modernizations across the district.
At its March 23 meeting, the school board approved the package for a total amount of $4,640,346, for a list of work to include: Demolition, Cast-in-Place Concrete, Masonry, General Trades, Roofing, Aluminum and Glazing, Drywall and Acoustical, Resilient Flooring, Hard Tile, Painting, Plumbing and Piping, Mechanical Controls, Electrical, Earthwork, and Site Concrete.
District consultant, Granger, will be the management for the overall project. DCS is also working with TMP Architecture.
Each task in the bid package has its own contractor or company assigned to the work with an agreed contract amount. An example of this will have the masonry work being done by Leidal & Hart at an amount of $861,727.
DCS Superintendent Ryan Bruder said the Wylie project will see the addition of a modern classroom wing with seven new rooms.
