The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported 149 calls for service in the City of Dexter in February 2026. Total calls for 2026 (Jan-Feb) are 305, a decrease of 15% compared to the same period in 2025.
Traffic Activity Declines
Deputies conducted 24 traffic stops in February, continuing a downward trend from 82 stops year-to-date in 2025 to 47 so far in 2026. Officers issued five citations during the month.
Violations included one stop sign violation, one failure to signal, and three parking violations. Most traffic stops were related to general traffic violations (11), speeding (9), and equipment violations (3).
Officers responded to six traffic crashes.
Crime and Incident Overview
Officiers responded to three assaults, one aggravated/felonious and two nonaggravated.
One credit card fraud and one retail fraud were reported. No larcenies were called in.
Officers also responded to two medical assists and one OWI-related incident. Fraud-related cases included credit card fraud and wire fraud, along with a reported retail fraud incident.
Calls and Community Activity
Other common calls included 33 non-criminal complaints, 32 miscellaneous traffic complaints, and 28 miscellaneous complaints. Deputies also responded to eight alarm calls, six sick or injury complaints, and eight juvenile-related complaints.
Deputies spent 1,225 minutes assisting outside the city, primarily in Scio Township, while 366 minutes of assistance were provided within Dexter by outside agencies.
