NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2 – ADMINISTRATION
ARTICLE 5 – PROCEDURE FOR PURCHASE OF CITY SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT
Notice is hereby given that the Dexter City Council will hold a public hearing on August 25, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Dexter City Hall, 3515 Broad St., Dexter, Michigan, for the purpose of hearing public comment regarding proposed changes to the General Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2 – Administration.
The changes to the Administration Ordinance include, but are not limited to a reorganization of articles, divisions, and sections; additions and updates to definitions; updates to procurement objectives; clarification on process to declare excluded vendors for excluded vendors list; increase expenditure limit of City Manager to $15,000, and $25,000 for utilities and public works expenditures; specify goal for inclusion of local vendors; and clarification of process for emergency purchases.
The draft changes are available for public inspection at City Hall, 3515 Broad St., Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They are also available online at dextermi.gov. Any questions regarding the ordinance updates should be directed to the City Manager’s Office at 734-426-8303.
Interested parties are welcome to attend the public hearing and present their comments. Written comments regarding the proposal should be submitted to the City Manager’s Office at the address listed above or via email to [email protected], and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
