THE FINAL FLOURISH – MICHIGAN’S ASTERS AND GOLDENRODS: 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Sunday September 13. Asters and goldenrods are the grand finale of the blooming season, filling fields and forests with brilliant shades of yellow, pink, purple, blue, and white. Join Ellen Holste of EnviroSpreak for a guided walk as she explores key characteristics of these plant species with up-close observations, where to find them, how to identify a few common species, and why they are so important to wildlife and us! Cost: $2/person or $5/family. Members are free. Eddy Discovery Center, 17030 Bush Rd. in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea. Program limited to 15 participants.
