It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Logan McDonald, age 23, who left us far too soon. Born in Ann Arbor on May 22, 2002, and raised in Dexter, Michigan. He went on to graduate from Western Michigan University. Logan brought light, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
Logan was a kind-hearted, sharp-witted soul whose laughter was contagious and whose compassion knew no bounds. He had a deep appreciation for music, movies, books, and sports – interests he shared generously with friends and family. Whether debating a favorite film, curating the perfect playlist, or analyzing a Tiger’s game, Logan’s enthusiasm was infectious.
A proud member of the Detroit Tigers Organization, Logan loved being part of the team behind the team. His work wasn’t just a job – it was an extension of his lifelong passion for sports. His happiest memories were rooted in both adventure and connection: boat rides to Zukey, laughs shared at McDaddy’s pub, camping under the stars at Kneff Lake, tubing down the Huron River, cheering on the Wolverines at the Big House, boating on North Lake, spending Christmas in Paris, and hiking across Isle Royale. He especially cherished travelling through Europe with his brother Evan – a journey full of discovery and brotherhood.
But more than anything, Logan loved time spent with those closest to him.
Logan is survived by his loving parents, Brian and Bethany McDonald; his beloved brother and travel companion, Evan; his grandparents Richard and Mary Lou Frendt, and Jack McDonald; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends whose lives are brighter for having known him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marian McDonald.
Logan’s life, though brief, was lived fully and with heart. He explored the world with open eyes, embraced people with an open heart, and left an imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Logan’s life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Huron River Methodist Church in Dexter, Michigan. Visitation at 1:00 PM, Service following at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Logan would want you to save your money, live simply, and spend your time on what truly matters – family, friends, and unforgettable moments.
Logan, your spirit will travel with us always.
