The new Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach for the Big Reds said she’s bringing with her a competitive spirit, strong commitment and genuine enthusiasm.
On March 26, Milan Athletics said it was “proud to announce Alyssa Tam as our new Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach.”
Milan Athletics said “We are thrilled to welcome Coach Tam to the family! We look forward to the energy and expertise she brings to our talented group of student-athletes.”
According to Milan Athletics, Tam is a 2012 graduate of Roosevelt High School (Wyandotte), “where she was a standout dual-sport athlete in volleyball and basketball.”
This took her to the collegiate level, where she competed for two years before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan.
Tam brings with 10 years of experience coaching at both the high school and club levels.
“Coach Tam brings a wealth of knowledge to our program,” Milan Athletics said.
With the hiring now official, Tam said she’s looking forward to getting to work.
“I bring a competitive spirit, strong commitment, and genuine enthusiasm for developing athletes both on and off the court,” Tam said in Milan’s announcement. “Coaching is something I truly love, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to positively impact young athletes through this sport. I am eager for this opportunity at Milan and cannot wait to get to work. Let’s Go Big Reds!”
