Webster Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 8/19/25

SYNOPSIS Webster Township Board Meeting – August 19, 2025, 7:00 P.M.

The Webster Township Board Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor Mike DeAngelo on August 19, 2025, at Webster Township Hall, 5665 Webster Church Road, Dexter, MI 48130. Members present: Supervisor Mike DeAngelo; Clerk Tonie Brovont; Treasurer John Scharf; Trustees Shelly Vrsek, Jeff Harms, Brant Savander; Zoning Administrator Sri Komaragiri; Deputy Supervisor Rick Kleinschmidt; Deputy Clerk Donna Whitney and 8 citizens. Trustee Dan Munzel absent.

Motion to approve the minutes of the Webster Township Board of Trustees Regular Meeting held on July 15, 2025, and the Special Meeting held August 12, 2025, as amended. Carried.  

Motion to approve the agenda as amended, adding Parks to be Action Item D. Carried.

Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and pay bills, as well as those anticipated bills received before our next meeting scheduled for September 16, 2025. Carried.

Motion to receive and file the Consent Agenda Reports and approve the release of the performance bond for the St. Joseph Church building expansion, as amended. Carried.

Motion to commission an appraisal on Application 2015-4 to cost no more than $3,500.00. Carried.

Motion to postpone approving the Webster Township Property Tax Levy, L-4029, until the September 16, 2025 Regular Board Meeting. Carried.

Motion to adopt Resolution No. 25-32 to amend Webster Township Zoning Ordinance No. 08-11 approving the proposed amendments to Sections 9.10.B, 9.10.C and 9.10.D of Article 9, and Section 2.10 of Article 2 of the Webster Township Zoning Ordinance, and send Section 9.15 D back to the Planning Commission. Carried.

Discussion – The Parks Committee is planning an Open House on August 28 from 6-8 p.m.

Motion to approve the Velvet Ridge Private Road Permit, New Construction, amended to include recommended conditions of approval. Carried.

Special Meeting – A Special Board of Trustees meeting is set for Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 7 p.m. to discuss township funding priorities and continue discussion of Draft Private Roads & Shared Driveway Ordinance, beginning at Article 4, Section 4.1.

Discussion – Web Site Usage, Improvements, Changes.

Discussion – RFP 25-01 Request for Proposals for the Webster Township Office interior Rebuild is available on the home page of our website, webstermi.us and is also posted on the notice board outside of the township office. Deadline for a site visit and questions is 8/28/25. Submittal deadline is 4PM on 9/4/25.

Discussion – An election will be taking place at the Webster Township Hall on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. for the purpose of casting a ballot for the Washtenaw Intermediate School District Area Career and Technical Education Proposal.

Motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:51 p.m. Carried.
