John R. Ewing, 68, of Monroe, MI, died tragically, on August 23, while traveling in Europe. He was working on one of his many research projects when he was in a fatal car accident.
John was born in Oakland County, MI, in 1957, to Bernice and Thomas Ewing. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Oakland University and attended graduate school at MSU.
John is survived by his former wife, Joann, and two sons, Michael (Donna) and Thomas (Deanna). He is also survived by two granddaughters, MaryBeth, of Indianapolis and Candace (Robert), of Windsor, Ontario. His beloved dog, Maxwell, also misses him terribly. In addition, he leaves behind two sisters, Patricia (Richard), of Columbus, Ohio, and Christine Wolf, of Chelsea and several nieces and nephews.
John is remembered by his family and many friends for his sense of humor, his curiosity and his care for all living beings.
John’s family appreciates all of the kindness and good memories of John that were shared with them. His private funeral will be held at a later date.
