Lima Twp: Adoption of Solar Ordinance Amendment

NOTICE OF ADOPTION

OF AMENDMENT

TO THE

LIMA TOWNSHIP ZONING ORDINANCE

Notice is hereby given that the Lima Township Board of Trustees adopted an amendment of the Lima Township Zoning Ordinance on April 14, 2025.

The amendment is to add definitions to Sections 2.2 – Definitions, and to add Section 5.57 – Solar Energy Conversion Systems. The new ordinance sections include regulations and standards for accessory solar energy conversion systems, which are intended to address concerns related to public health and community character. The proposed ordinance language includes dimensional standards, design standards, and screening requirements where necessary.

The Lima Township Planning Commission held a public hearing on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., in accordance with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, and received public feedback on the draft ordinance language.

The ordinance takes effect 7 days after the publication date of this notice of adoption.
