I attended a great event tonight to show my support for my best friend and my community. π³οΈβπ I was talking to Glen fox and Kerry Plank about how great it is for everyone to come out and support the community, and asking who to thank for organizing. I turned to a woman who was wearing a lot of rainbow, to ask if she had arranged the event and thank her, when she replied βdo you know who I am?β I replied βnoβ. βIβm Tressie Davis, why did you block me on social media?β I answered βbecause you harass me. She continued on a tirade and I turned my back to her to try and shut it down, and focus on why o came. She only ceased when I tried to video her. We walked away to take a group picture ( the reason we came!) Then Tressie Davis and Theresa Plank crossed the street to confront me again while I was talking to my friend. while another woman videoed. They incessantly asked me questions despite my asking them to stop. I told them I would be happy to talk another time but this was not the appropriate time/place. When I asked to see what the woman was videoing she started screaming that I had a gun and I was reaching for a gun. I was in shock and shaking. I didnβt know what to do. I was wearing scrubs and my work jacket and lifted it up to show I had no gun. And then quietly walked back to my friends car. We then drove to the police station to file a report. I am severely disappointed in this town. Because of my morals and values, I am not welcome here. I had defend my love for my best friend. I love him because he is a good human and I support his love!
In speaking with him afterwards, he is saddened by the behaviors he witnessed. This was his first event in chelsea, and the focus was taken away from the purpose of the event, celebrating the LGBTQ community.
With disappointment, Ross and Henrry.
