CSB Election - Pogressive vs Traditional

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of The Sun Times News management or staff.

Dear Chelsea Community

Unfortunately, the recent STN article (Chelsea School Board Candidates Answer the Public’s Questions) did not provide voters with the big picture they face this November. Yard signage and campaign literature show there are two slates of candidates vying for the four open seats on the Chelsea School Board (CSB), a Progressive slate (Craig, Fox, Henson and Moore) and a Traditional slate (Golding, Greenstein, Mallie and Piatt). Literature for the former promises to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI); the latter does not use these terms, instead promising to make decisions with us instead of for us. Many of us are aware of the drama being played out in Michigan and across our country between concerned parents and school boards promoting progressive ideologies under the guise of DEI. I favor education versus indoctrination for our Chelsea K-12 student.  The Traditional slate has my vote.
