Judith Mary Catherine Jablonski

Judith Mary Catherine Jablonski, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 after a short illness at Trinity Hospital, Chelsea, Michigan. A private memorial service will be held at the Chelsea Retirement Community. Interment of ashes will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, California at a later date.

She was born on October 26, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to William and Eileen (O’hara) Zuk. Judy married the love of her life, the late James Jablonski, on January 14, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. She will be remembered for her loving personality. Judy was loved as a nurse, teacher, and a person. She never met a stranger. Judy was a graduate of Denby High School in Detroit, and Purdue University in Indiana. She was a nurse her entire adult life, then teaching CNA’s and LVN’s retiring after 60 plus years of service. While in California, Judy belonged to the Red Hat Society, Friends of the Library, and Port Hueneme Bay Society. Upon returning to Michigan she joined the Chelsea Retirement Community Euchre Club at the Dancey House. Above all Judy cherished her time doting on her grandchildren, even getting to be a great grandmother. She will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Kim (Tim) Gouwens and Karen (Rodney) Tresh; grandchildren James Tresh, Marissa Tresh, Kyle Gouwens, Tyler (Katherine) Gouwens and Alicia Tresh; one great grandson Arie Gouwens; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim; her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Roger Best; a brother, Dennis Zuk; and a nephew, Justin Zuk.
