SYNOPSIS OF DECEMBER 2023 BOARD MEETING MINUTES
LYNDON TOWNSHIP – 17751 N. Territorial Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Summary of Minutes, December 12, 2023—Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. During Public Comment, a resident spoke to broadband. Items Approved: Agenda; Consent Agenda; Bills. The Supervisor briefly addressed correspondence to Township. Items Approved: Recommendation of the Planning Commission to the Township Board approves the Zoning Map Amendment (ZMA23-001) to rezone the property at 9750 Stofer Road (E-05-24-100-0087) from Rural Residential (RR to Neighborhood Commercial (NC) because the amendment would meet the criteria for an amendment of the official Zoning Map (Rezoning under Section 19.12(C)(1-7) as discussed at the hearing and as presented in the Staff Report. The zoning change would comply with the future land use map and the goals and objectives of the township’s master plan; that per the recommendation of the Planning Commission the Township Board approves the Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA23-001) to revise the existing lot coverage regulation under section 14.04 (H)(4) of the special land use requirements for commercial storage warehouses because the proposed change from 50% to 70% will meet the Criteria for an amendment of the official Zoning Ordinance text under Section 19.12 (D) (1-8) as discussed at the Planning Commission hearing on November 30, 2023 and as presented in the Staff Report. Commercial storage warehouses are only allowed in the neighborhood commercial zoned properties, which there are currently only three within the Township, and any new or addition to a commercial storage warehouse would require a drainage plan and calculation meeting the code regulations for drainage on the site; Recommend the Township negotiate a contract for ISP service with ACD and authorize the Township Supervisor to execute that contract provided there is no substantial increase in cost to subscribers; authorize the Broadband Oversight Committee to spend up to $100 per month for up to six (6) months to provide temporary interest access to 10320 Leeke Road; Appoint Dean Menegay as Representative to the Zoning Board of Appeals to replace Mark Brennan for the term January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025 (2 years) and reappoint Helmut Bertrand as Representattive to the ZBA until a replacement is found for the term January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025 (2 years).
