Gloria May Church, 95, passed away on March 5, 2024. She was born on May 30, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, to Harold Thompson and Ella (Rissman) Thompson. Gloria married the love of her life, Earl Church, on November 22, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan. She will be remembered as a loving and generous mother, grandmother, and friend. Gloria loved to travel, exploring in and around the United States and once to Germany to attend the Passion Play. While she enjoyed her travels, Gloria found joy in living on Baseline Lake. She also enjoyed playing various games, organizing and playing card games at the Hamburg Senior Center, and visiting multiple casinos to play slots. To Gloria, her faith was of utmost importance, attending St. Paul Lutheran Church for 25 years. Her memory is cherished by those she loved and will be deeply missed.
Her Family… Gloria will be missed by her loving children, Pamela (David) Stepka, Nancy (Chuck) Pear, Sandra Church, Lori (Thomas) Church; brother, Richard (Marie) Thompson; grandchildren, Jessica Reeve, Casey Reeve, Dawn Reeve, and Veronica (Jared) Pear; great-grandchildren, Kylie Church, Roman Barber, Olive Keller–Pear; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl; mother, Ella; aunt, Margaret Robison; brother-in-law, Robert Matthes; sister-in-law, Ila Matthes.
