Synopsis of Regular Meeting Minutes
Monday, April 8, 2024 7:00 PM
Supervisor Luick opened the meeting at 7:00 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members present were Supervisor Duane Luick, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Dale Luick, and Trustee Greg McKenzie. The agenda was approved with two additions. The Consent Agenda for 3/4/2024 Budget Workshop Minutes, 3/26/24 Budget Public Hearing Minutes, Payroll ($11,403), and Accounts Payable ($11,110) was approved. Corrections to the 3/26/2024 Meeting Minutes were discussed and approved.
In the first public comment, L. White asked the board to reconsider the first proposal for renovations that did not include offices. C. Chase thanked the board for considering changes to the chicken ordinance.
Reports were given. Of note, Planning Commission met March 25 and discussed the township animal ordinance, St. Vlad church plans, and the new Lima Town Hall plans, and on April 22 there will be a public hearing for the St. Vlad plan and the Lima Township Master Plan revisions. The Clerk reported that the deadline for filing for office for the August election is April 23. The Supervisor reported there is a discrepancy in county records that needs to be resolved before the 425 agreement can be signed.
A letter from township engineer regarding the Twin Oaks private drive application was reviewed. Action tabled until discrepancies are resolved.
Proposed revisions to the animal ordinance were discussed. Changes were made to the entire section 5.37 while the board thought only subsection 5.37.7 would be modified. Motion passed to approve only the newly revised subsection on keeping of chickens. Motion passed to send the rest of 5.37 back to planning for review.
B. Spink provided an update for the Town Hall Design Coordination Committee. Committee is considering a deeper basement and a drain field test was performed that morning. Motion passed to set a public information meeting on the Town Hall project for April 29 at 7pm. Motion failed to approve a proposal from the architect for an additional cost estimate.
The Supervisor’s nomination of M. Sastre to be the Land Division Administrator was unanimously approved. A motion to approve a letter of support for WAVE to receive a grant for constructing a centralized location for operations was unanimously approved.
