What should our County be doing about the climate emergency?
Be a part of Washtenaw County’s process for developing its Resilient Washtenaw climate action plan! You can join your neighbors in providing your input to develop the plan. Visit the Updates page to register for a (Zoom) listening session.* There is a session for each of the nine county districts. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for February 8 through February 17, so don’t delay. (A few sessions have already happened. If yours is one, feel free to attend another and/or to view the recording of the session you missed. The Updates page indicates how to do the latter.)
It’s exciting (and challenging) to know that the plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2035 is for all county emissions—not just those produced by county-owned facilities. The plan will also include “resilience strategies in preparation for intensifying climate impacts.” We’ll all need to do our part to make this a reality!
