ELECTION NOTICE for QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF WEBSTER TOWNSHIP

Notice is hereby given that a Primary Election will be held in Webster Township on

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2022 from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Polls are located at the Webster Township Hall, 5665 Webster Church Road, Dexter Michigan 48130

Voter Registration Applications and Absentee Ballot Applications can be obtained at the Webster Township Hall or online at mi.gov/vote
or
webstermi.us. Applications can be mailed, hand delivered, placed in the Webster Township drop box, or emailed to the clerk at bcalleja@webstermi.us. The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the Webster Township Clerk is Monday, July 18, 2022. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in-person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the Webster Township Clerk’s office:

  • Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Regular township business hours
  • Friday, July 29, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Open for registrations and absentee ballots only
  • Saturday, July 30, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Open for registrations and absentee ballots only
  • Tuesday, August 2, ELECTION DAY, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., for Registrations and VOTING

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PRIMARY ELECTION IS TO VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING:

  • Governor; Representative in Congress 6th
    district; State Senator 14th district; Representative in State Legislature 48th district; County Commissioner 2nd
    district; Delegate to County Convention; Judge of District Court 14A District, Non-Incumbent Position.
  • Webster Township Public Safety Millage Proposal: Shall Webster Township renew and levy 3.2780 mills ($3.2780 per $1,000 of taxable value), for the purpose of providing police and fire protection within Webster Township, for Ten (10) years, 2022 through 2031 inclusive, which will raise an estimated $1,649,609 in 2022?
  • Dexter Community Schools Recreation Millage Proposition: Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in the Dexter Community Schools, Washtenaw and Livingston Counties, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 1 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 20 years, 2022 to 2041, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for operating a system of public recreation and playgrounds; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect for such recreation program if the millage is approved and levied in 2022 is approximately $1,441,238?
