NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON CORRECTED SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
FOR MERLIN WAY ROAD PAVING IMPROVEMENTS
Scio Township
County of Washtenaw, Michigan
TAKE NOTICE that the Township Board of Scio Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, previously confirmed a special assessment roll on October 12, 2021 to defray the cost of paving all or a portion of Merlin Way in Scio Township by assessing the cost against a special assessment district.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Township Board intends to correct and supplement the resolution confirming the special assessment roll. The proposed actions include but are not limited to the following:
- Increase the total project cost from $233,044 to $243,844 due to an actual incremental cost increase that exceeds the cost estimate.
- Increase the total assessment per parcel to $24,384.40 due to the increased project cost.
- Provide a 10-year term for payment of the special assessment.
- Establish an interest rate of 5%, with the option to pay the special assessment principal in full without interest on or before February 14, 2023.
The Township Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the Scio Township Hall, 827 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, for the purpose of hearing interested persons on the proposed corrections to the resolution confirming the special assessment roll. Written comments may be submitted to the Township Clerk before the public hearing begins.
