SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS SEPTEMBER 13, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supr. Hathaway at 827 N. Zeeb Road.

Present: Hathaway, Flintoft, Knol, Palmer, McLaughlin, Jerome

Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.

Approved the purchase of grant funded wellness/fitness equipment.

Created a committee to evaluate and make service level recommendations for fire protection.

Approved the proposal to install keyless access to Township Hall.

Approved the payment of $7,900 from the water fund to pay the cost of the emergency response by Tanner Excavation.

Appropriated up to $40,000 from fund balance of Fund 208 to 208-770-981 and authorize Parks and Pathways Director to purchase a work vehicle for use in maintenance of Scio Township Parks, Preserves and pathways.

Waived the bidding requirements and approve the OHM Advisors proposal for preliminary engineering for the Van Curler Preserve access in the amount of $29,950.

Awarded the bid for a solar array for 1055 N. Zeeb Road to Homeland Solar in the amount of $79,300, with an expected 30% direct incentive payment from the federal government.

Approved the appointment of Mark Brazeau as Scio Township Trustee to serve the remainder of the unexpired term to which Jacqueline Courteau was elected in 2020.

Approved Andrea Garrett to the position of Township Assessor and increase her salary to $87,000 per year effective September 16, 2022.
