SYNOPSIS Webster Township Board Meeting
October 18, 2022, at 7:00 P.M.
The Webster Township Board Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor John Kingsley on October 18, 2022, at the Webster Township Hall, 5665 Webster Church Road, Dexter, MI 48130. Members present: Supervisor John Kingsley; Clerk Barbara Calleja; Treasurer John Scharf; Trustees Dan Munzel, Jeff Harms, John Westman, Shelly Vrsek; Deputy Supervisor Rick Kleinschmidt; and 7 citizens.
Motion to approve the minutes of the Webster Township Board of Trustees Regular Meeting held on September 20, 2022, as presented. Carried.
Presentation of the Washtenaw County Broadband Build Out presented by Chris Scharrer.
Information on the Washtenaw Broadband Build Out will be on the township website www.webstermi.us
under the Community page.
Motion to approve the agenda as presented. Carried.
Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and pay bills as presented, as well as those anticipated bills received before our next meeting scheduled for November 15, 2022. Carried.
Motion to accept the Consent Agenda reports as presented. Carried.
Discussion on ARPA Funds.
Request for Proposals 1. Parking Lot-a request was made for an engineer to prepare the RFP.
2. Roof-Rick Kleindschmidt will get up on the roof to give an opinion. A quote for a metal roof was requested. The cupola will be an issue to be considered. 3. Architect Building Renovations-a recommendation was made that we use the term “Functional and Space Program” when speaking with architects.
Motion to approve the presented insert by the Webster Township Historical Society to be included in the winter tax bill and paid for by the Historical Society. Carried.
Motion to include a two-page double sided survey with the winter tax bills to be paid for out of the Parks & Rec budget. Carried.
Motion to appoint William Kirst to the PDR Board for a term that expires on 12/23. Postponed.
Motion to postpone the PDR appointment until the Board of Trustee’s November 15, 2022, meeting. Carried.
Motion to authorize a $600.00 budget to provide food for the people working the November 8, 2022, General Election. Carried.
Motion to support the presented letter to maintain Court services in Chelsea for the convenience to the western part of Washtenaw County. Failed
Motion for the township to draft their own letter in support of maintaining Court services in Chelsea for the convenience to the western part of Washtenaw County. Carried
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:09 p.m. Carried.
