NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF DEXTER
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, November 21, 2022. The hearing will take place at 3515 Broad St., Dexter, Michigan. The purpose of hearing is to take public comments regarding the following variance application:
The applicant, Richard Willams, is requesting the following variance for property located at 7565 Ann Arbor Street (08-08-06-406-014), on behalf of the property owner, Rum Properties, LLC:
- A 6.1-foot variance from the 10-foot side yard setback requirement in Section 20.01 of the City of Dexter Zoning Ordinance to allow for a vertical expansion of an existing non-conforming structure, which encroaches into the required side-yard setback.
According to Section 4.05, sub-section E.2 non-conforming structures, in any zoning district, may be expanded only after approval by the Zoning Board of Appeals, as provided in Section 24.05.F.
The applicant is requesting the variance due to practical difficulties associated with the property. If granted, a 3.9-foot side yard setback from the eastern property line would be allowed.
The application is available for public inspection at the City Offices, 8123 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Any questions regarding the application should be directed to the Office of Community Development at 734-580-2233.

All comments must be received no later than close of business the day of the meeting.
