SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS JANUARY 10, 2023

Meeting called to order at 7:05 pm by Supervisor Hathaway.

Present: Hathaway, Flintoft, Knol, Palmer, Brazeau, Reiser

Absent: Kerry

Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.

Approved minutes of regular meeting of December 13, 2022, with corrections.

Approved minutes of special meeting of December 27, 2022, with corrections.

Authorized additional funds to complete Chart of Accounts conversion.

Appropriated $18,800 of General Fund balance and authorize engagement of Amy Cell, LLC for recruitment of Finance Director, Human Resources Generalist, and IT Manager.

Approved a two-year contract renewal and addendum for land preservation services with Barry Lonik.

Reappointed Bruce Conybeare, Susan Westerman and Mark Perry to the Board of Review.

Adopted the Resolution changing the Board of Review Schedule for 2023.

Approved the 2023 Poverty Exemption Guidelines.

Adopted the Resolution approving annexation of 1855 N. Maple, 1875 N. Maple and 1921 Calvin to the City of Ann Arbor.

Accepted the utility easement offered by the Washtenaw Intermediate School District.

Approved the reassignment of the Water Tower Access Road easement from Frisbee Moving & Storage/LST Properties LLC to Palmer Ann Arbor Warehouse, LLC.

Approved the services contract with the Dexter Senior Center.

Approved the appointment of Jeff Human to serve as Planning Commission representative to the Roads Advisory Committee through November 24, 2023.

Adopted the resolution to rename the job of Township Administrator to Township Manager and to revise the Township Manager job description.

Adopted the Resolution to hire a finance director who shall perform duties and responsibilities as directed by the Board of Trustees.

Approved the Resolution to repeal the August 17, 2021, job description of the Scio Township Supervisor.

Authorized the creation of an information technology manager position with an annual salary of up to $80,000.

Adopted the Resolution to appoint Mary Gillis as Editor of the Township Newsletter.

Adopted the Resolution for the Herron Farm wine tasting room.

Adjourned at 11:40 p.m.
