Ann Louise Graves

Ann Louise Graves, 88, of Whitmore Lake, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. She was born in Marlboro, MA on June 13, 1934 to Donald and Annabelle (Bruce) MacLeod. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 13 at the First Congregational Church at 608 East William Street in Ann Arbor, MI.
Ann attended Simmons College in Boston, MA, earning a degree in microbiology. She then attended the University of Michigan for graduate studies in physiology. She met Earl Graves at the University of Michigan, and they were married on February 25, 1961, in Marlboro, MA. Ann and Earl resided in the Ann Arbor area for over 60 years. Ann worked as a dedicated and loving homemaker, and at the Huron Valley Tennis Club and Promotional Perspectives in Ann Arbor.
Ann was a decades-long member of the First Congregational Church in Ann Arbor. She loved gardening and being outdoors. She was an avid tennis player throughout her life. She enjoyed square and round dancing with her husband. She took up running at the age of 60. She was well known for her excellent baking, sewing, and crafting skills. Ann and her husband greatly enjoyed traveling internationally. They visited many countries around the world and hiked into remote territories.
Ann is survived by her daughter Julia Weindorf (John) and son Andy Graves (Sabrina); grandchildren Noah, Rebecca, Emily, and Erica; sister Joan Morehouse; sister-in-law Elaine Graves; nieces Nancy Reynolds, Kate San Antonio, Susan Griffes, and Jill Bair; many extended family members; and her beloved cat, Taffy.
Ann was preceded in death by Earl, her husband of 58 years; parents Donald and Annabelle MacLeod; brother-in-law Dan Morehouse; brother-in-law Jerry Graves; and her niece, Diane Cater.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s memory to the Webster Township Historical Society or to the First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor.
