SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS MARCH 21, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supr. Hathaway at 827 N. Zeeb Road.

Present: Hathaway, Flintoft, Knol, Kerry, Reiser, Palmer

Absent: Brazeau

Reduced Fund 244 Economic Development Corporation from $11 to $0.

Adopted the Resolution Approving FY 22-23 Budget Amendments.

Approved amendments to the proposed FYE 24 budget for the following funds:

Fund 494 DDA changing proposed revenues to $2,599,000 and expenditures to $1,976,125.
Fund 232 Tree Mitigation Fund expenditures to eliminate account 232-807-000 audit fees, and to reduce expenditure from $4,765 to $4,265.
Fund 400 Township Wide Road SAD fund from expenditures of $450,000 to $60,000.
Addition of two intern positions for the Planning Commission sustainability effort at a stipend of $5,000 each for a total of $10,000 to account 101-701.
Modified Fund-Activity 101-171 to eliminate the 0.5 position of Deputy Supervisor with current authorized pay of $52,708; and to restore Fund-Activity 101-253 Treasurer to 1.0 full time Deputy Treasurer with continued authorized pay of $105,416.
Modified Fund 206 Fire to increase the authorized salary of the Administrative Assistant to $62,000.
Added a note to Fund 101-191 1.0 FTE position of Finance Assistant replaces the position of 0.5 Utilities Administrative Assistant.
Modified Fund-Activity 101-257 to increase the Assistant Assessor hourly rate to $45/hour.
Modified Fund-Activity 101-215 and 101-262 to increase the Deputy Clerk hourly rate to $35/hour.
Modified Fund 208 Parks Project Manager to full-time with 50% budgeted cost from Fund 101-101 and 50% to remain in Fund 208 at a salary of $81,245.
For Fund 101 General Government Activity 101 Account 880 Public Contributions from $7,000 to $22,000 to support services provided to Scio seniors by the Dexter Senior Center.
For Fund 101-530 Recycling from $0 to $40,000 as requested by the Sustainability Task Force.
For Planning Fund 101-701-823 Contracted Services from $6,000 to $36,000 for engineering standards update and other costs.
For Buildings/Grounds Fund 101-265-823 Contracted Services from $10,000 to $40,000 to apply to HVAC engineering costs.
