SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS JUNE 13, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm by Supr. Hathaway at 827 N. Zeeb Road.

Present: Hathaway, Reiser, Kerry, Palmer, Brazeau, Flintoft

Absent: Knol

Approved minutes of special meeting of May 23, 2023, as submitted.

Approved minutes of regular meeting of May 23, 2023, with corrections.

Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.

Approved a change to liquor license approval from applicant Herron Farms LLC to applicant Social Vines LLC.

Appointed Trustee Reiser as Scio Twp representative to the Washtenaw Area Transportation Study Policy Committee for a term ending November 20, 2024.

Approved the draft Summer 2023 Scio Township Newsletter.

Approved the one-time publication and distribution of the proposed recycling and sustainability resource as a shared expense between GFL and Scio Township, a share up to $4,500.

Approved the appointments of Trustee Knol and Cathy Jaskiewicz to SEMCOG consistent with their respective terms on the BOT and ESTF. Trustee Knol as delegate and Ms. Jaskiewicz will serve as alternate.

Approved conditional offer of employment to Sarah McCleery for the position of assistant residential assessor.

Approved Resolution to Clarify and Correct the Use of 2013 Township-wide Roads SAD Funds for Upland Drive and Scio Ridge Road sidewalks and bus stops.

Adopted amendments to Sections 3, 7, and 19 of the Scio Township Personnel Handbook.

Public hearing held to Establish a Special Assessment District to Defray Costs of Fire Services.

Authorized $8,776.62 for the annual dues/contribution to Legal Defense Fund of the MTA.

Authorized the expenditure of up to $3,200 to reimburse Kristy Aiken for the educational requested.

Authorized Fink & Fink to file suit against Custom Design Security for breach of contract.
