SYNOPSIS OF JUNE 2023 BOARD MEETING MINUTES
LYNDON TOWNSHIP – 17751 N. Territorial Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Summary of Minutes, June 13, 2023—Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. During Public Comment, residents addressed issues such as summer homes and broadband. Items Approved: Agenda, Consent Agenda, and Approval of Bills. Items Approved: the Final Site Plan (FSP 23-002) because the proposed project meets the Site Plan Review Standards in Section 15.08(A) as discussed at tonight’s meeting, as discussed at the May 25, 2023 Planning Commission meeting and their recommendation of approval to the Township Board, and described in the Staff Reports, with all of the conditions of approval recommended by the Township Planning Commission on pages 2 and 3 of the memo to the Lyndon Township Board; Proposed insurance plan from Decker Agency for $8,937 for the Township’s fiscal year; Budget Amendment: Increase DUES AND MEMBERSHIP 101.416.955.046 (OTHER FUNCTIONS/UNALLOCATED) $1,200.00 and decrease FUND BALANCE 101.931.699.000 $2,200.00 and payment of the invoice from Michigan Townships Association in the amount of $5,663.78; Budget Amendment #2: Increase 101.406.805.000 INSURANCE AND BONDS $300.00 and Decrease 101.931.699.000 FUND BALANCE $300.00; Allow payment of Invoices to the Washtenaw County Road Commission through ACH (Automatic Clearing House); Authorize our attorney to prepare a contract amendment to extend the MEC ISP Contract to June 30, 2024 and a 180 termination date of January 2, 2024; Request that the Office Manager’s credit card limit be increased from $5,000.00 to $10,000.00. Zoning Administrator, CAFA Representative, Multi-Lakes Water & Sewer Representative, and Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority Representative discussed their reports that were submitted to the Town Board in writing. Deputy Supervisor reported on the redundant project and the Broadband Oversight Committee. Supervisor reported on the Sylvan Township Water and Sewer Authority and what is happening with the Local Roads Advisory Committee. Meeting adjourned at 9:20 PM. Summary of Minutes, June 15, 2023 – Meeting called to order at 5:00 PM. No Public Comment. Items Approved: Agenda. Workshop on the Lyndon Township Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 7/1/2023 through 6/30/2024. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 PM. Summary of Minutes, June 29, 2023 – Meeting called to order at 5:30 PM. No Public Comment. Public Hearing on Lyndon Township Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Items Approved: Adopt the proposed budget amendments for Fiscal Year July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023; Supervisor’s Salary Authorization of $32,950 for Fiscal Year 7/1/2023-6/30/2024; Clerk’s Salary Authorization of $36,245 for Fiscal Year 7/1/2023-6/30/2024; Treasurer’s Salary Authorization of $32,950 for Fiscal Year 7/1/2023-6/30/2024; Trustee salary authorization of $4,282 for each for Fiscal Year 7/1/2023-6/30/2024; the 2023 Tax Rate Request as presented: Operation Millage of 0.6975 and Broadband Millage of 2.8456; Adopt the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; Adopt the proposed Lyndon Township Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; Year End Fiscal Bills and include ARPA payments of $18,000 and $6,000 for a total of $24,000; 2023-2024 meeting dates for the Township Board, Planning Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
