A Thank-You to the Community Following Dexter High School's 2023 "Stuff the Bus" Campaign
In a post-pandemic world where more and more of our neighbors face economic hardship, it's become increasingly difficult to look after the well-being of those in our community. Dexter residents, however, have demonstrated that they deeply understand the importance of generosity in times of need.
In only a week, Dexter High School's "Stuff the Bus" food drive to support Faith in Action, the local food bank which now serves twice as many families as they did pre-COVID, raised $2,500 in cash donations and collected a record-high quantity of food: 3000 pounds, enough to pack every single room in their center with Busch's grocery bags while even overflowing into the hallways connecting them.
Such an accomplishment, which will provide the pantry with ample supplies to get through the holiday season, would not have been possible without the support of selfless individuals who took our flyers and brought our volunteers bags stuffed with food. On behalf of Dexter's Student Council, I'd like to personally thank everyone who played a role in our unprecedented success. You've brought a lot of joy to our town.
