With profound sadness and deep love, we share the passing of Meribeth Gandy Pezda, on November 13, 2023. Meribeth was a resident of Dexter. She was 55 years old. Meribeth was a loving mother, sister, and devoted friend to all those whose lives she touched.

Meribeth was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Robert J Gandy, Jr and Nancy Holmes Gandy. Meribeth graduated from University of Michigan and was a dedicated social worker, researcher, and therapist. Most of all she loved her family and being mother to her two sons was her greatest joy. Sharing in the lives of her friends in the Dexter community and beyond meant the world to her. She was a kind neighbor, compassionate friend, and a gentle soul who cared deeply for others and brought her warmth and joy to her work and everyday life.

Meribeth was the loving mother of James and Andrew Pezda, and treasured sister to Melinda Gandy Raboin and Michelle Gandy Bissanti. She is lovingly remembered by her former spouse Dave Pezda, nieces and nephews Anna, Matthew, Zachary and Robert Raboin, and Forrest Bissanti, cousins Jennifer, Kathy, Stephen, Kirsten, Kimberly, Nick, and Scott, as well as aunts and uncles Richard and Beth Holmes, the late Susie Holmes, and Karen and Charles Matthews, Marion Gandy, and the late James Gandy.

Meribeth will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on January 20, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church 1432 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI. After the service a reception will follow in the church social hall. Parking is available at the Forest Street lot structure.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Meribeth’s memory to Ele’s Place in Ann Arbor, MI.
