SCIO TOWNSHIP ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting of the Scio Township Zoning Board of Appeals will be (held at the Scio Township Hall, 827 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, via zoom,) on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. During this meeting the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold public hearings on the following matters pursuant to the Scio Township Codified Zoning Ordinance of 2009, as amended:
• Variance # 23009, Scio Retail Management LLC, by Hani Karana, regarding sign for Pita Way, 5609 Jackson Road, H -08-21-400-042, the applicant requests an Administrative Review of a determination made by an administrative official regarding building frontage as it relates to allowable wall signs. The applicant requests that the west side of the building be considered the frontage of the building for purposes of determining total allowable wall signs rather than the north or south sides of the building as determined by the Scio Township administrative (zoning) official. This Administrative Review is being requested pursuant to Section 36-427.c of the Scio Township Zoning Ordinance. The Administrative Review if successful would allow 72 square feet of total signage rather than the maximum permitted 36.3 square feet.
Persons or their duly appointed representative having interest in said applications shall there and then be heard at the above described meetings or adjournment thereof relative to any matters that should come before the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Details concerning the aforementioned matters may be examined by interested persons and written comments will be received, at the Scio Township Offices at 827 N. Zeeb Road during office hours, weekdays, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to participate.
