NOTICE OF ADOPTION

CITY OF DEXTER

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN

AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE 2024-02

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2023 CITY OF DEXTER ZONING ORDINANCE BY INCORPORATING AMENDMENTS TO ARTICLE XXIII, AMENDMENT PROCEDURE.

Notice is hereby given that the Dexter City Council adopted the following Zoning Ordinance Amendment at a Regular Meeting on the 11th day of March, 2024, which was called to order by Mayor Keough at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.

PRESENT: Aldag, Griffin, Hubbard, Michels, Schlaff, Semifero, Keough

ABSENT: None

The City of Dexter City Council hereby ordains:

SECTION 1: The City of Dexter 2023 Zoning Ordinance is amended by REVISION of Article XXIII, Amendment Procedure, Section 23.01, Initiation of Amendments, as follows:

Section 23.01 Initiation of Amendments: The City Council may, from time to time, amend, modify, supplement, or revise the zoning district boundaries shown on the Official Zoning Map or the provisions of this Ordinance. Amendments may be initiated by the Zoning Administrator, the City Council, the Planning Commission, or by petition of one or more property owners to be affected by the proposed amendment.

SECTION 2: INCONSISTENCIES REPEALED. Any and all other ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY. Should any section, clause or paragraph of this Ordinance be declared by court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same will not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or part hereof other than the part declared to be invalid.

SECTION 4: SAVING CLAUSE. That nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Ordinance.

SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. The provisions of this amendment are hereby ordered to take effect seven (7) days following its publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the City, in accordance with PA 110 of 2006, the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, as amended.
