Saline: Synopsis of Council Mtg 9-12-22

SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

SYNOPSIS

The Regular meeting of the Saline City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Marl at Saline City Hall. The Mayor and six members of Council were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Council voted to approve the agenda as amended. There were no public comments. The following Consent Agenda items were approved by Council: Council minutes and synopsis of the August 15, 2022, regular meeting; payment of 184 payees in the amount of $2,425,885.36; Resignation of Toni Knight from the Arts & Culture Committee; Resignation of Terry Branoff from the Environmental Commission; Appointment of Jennifer Thomas to the Environmental Commission; Resignation of Alison Spork from the Health Care Taskforce Committee; Appointment of Risk Mitigation Advisory Group.

Public Hearing

Council voted to open and close two public hearing. There were no public comments.

Council voted to approve with conditions the Special Land Use for an Adult Use Marihuana Retailer at 465 E. Michigan Ave.

Council voted to approve with conditions the Special Land Use for a Medical Marihuana Provisioning Center – 465 E. Michigan Ave.

Unfinished Business:

Council voted to not approve Item 22-189 2022 Board/Commission Appointment Policy; Council voted to postpone Item 22-193 Public Participation Policy to the September 19th
Meeting.

New Business:

Council voted to approve 22-214 First Reading of Rental Inspection Ordinance;22-217 Personnel Policy – Weapons Possession Language Update; 22-216 Building Department Tech Fees; 22-224 Transition of Rec Center Sustainability Taskforce into the Rec Center Advisory Panel; 22-225 First Reading of the International Property Maintenance Code Update; 22-223 Sanitary Sizing Evaluation – Proposal for Engineering Services; 22-226 Odor Scrubber Carbon Replacement; 22-213 Cyber Liability Insurance 2022; 22-222 865 N. Ann Arbor Exchange Agreement; 22-212 First Amendment to Land Sale and Purchase Agreement – 207 Monroe Street. There were nine Discussion and/or Report items. There were no public comments.

Council voted to adjourn at 9:22 p.m.
