Incident #: 24-1706 Location: 1100 block of S. Main St.
Date: May 30, 2024 Time: 11:18 hours
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol, officers responded to the 1100 block of S. Main Street for the report of an Aggravated Assault and Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. Upon arrival, the officer located a witness who stated that the incident was believed to have started over a road rage incident. A short time after the officer arrived the complainant returned back to the scene. The complainant stated that he had been cut off while driving through a parking lot and the complainant turned his vehicle around and exited his vehicle to confront the suspect about what had taken place. The complainant stated that the suspect, later identified as a 64-year-old Grass Lake man then exited hisvehicle and grabbed a baseball bat out of the back seat, at that point the complainant retreated back to his vehicle and closed his door. The complainant stated that the suspect walked toward the vehicle and swung the baseball bat, smashing the window of the
complainant’s vehicle. The suspect then reportedly got back into his vehicle and after another short altercation the suspect fled the area. The incident remains open pending further investigation and review by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s to determine what charges may be authorized.
